Eating & Sweating Like a Celebrity with Asics

Greetings from Santa Monica!

I am so privileged today to spend the entire morning and afternoon working out with some of the top fitness trainers in the biz at Asics‘ Train Like a Celebrity event.

Asics invited health and fitness writers from all over the country to come stay at one of the most exclusive resorts in Santa Monica, Shutters on the Beach, and workout with celebrity trainers like Cameron Diaz’s personal trainer Teddy Bass and Courteney Cox’s go-to-gal, Michelle Lovitt.

Believe or not, I made the cut!

Today I’ll be interviewing Teddy for my SheKnows fitness series Celebody, and trying out his Pilates method. I’m so excited because he is one of the trainers I’ve been dying to work with for a while now.

And, if he can show me how to get Cam’s super toned physique, I will be eternally grateful.

Welcome to the gun show… cam-diaz

I also get to try out the amazing new GEL cross trainers Asics has to offer. Today I’ll be sporting the GEL-Synthesis. Sweet mango color, right?

Asics GEL Synthesis in MangoThe coolest thing about these babies is that they have an inner lining that is another shoe in itself. You can wear the insert for beach activities or water sports, and wash it when your shoes get gross.

We kicked off the festivities last night with an amazing dinner hosted by Paleta chef Kelly Boyer. Paleta is a farm to table home delivery service. They provide meal plans, juicing cleanses, and even catering, as we were treated to last night…

Not only was the food delicious, but Kelly was so fun and outgoing. She continually reminded us that tequila and champagne make perfect pairings with her juices to spice them up a notch. Note to self: Bring these to every summer BBQ!

After our fabulous meal Kelly, and U.S. Women’s Marathon record holder Deena Kastor, showed us how to make a few of the adorable dishes. Be on the lookout for full recipes for the Gazpacho and a Grilled Peach dessert shortly!

While I was stuffed last night, I am so glad I got to fuel up on all that delicious and healthy food. I will need it today for the four workouts in a row that I’m about to complete!

I’ll be posting pictures of all our exciting activities throughout the day on my Instagram and Twitter, so be on the lookout. And, I’ll have a full recap soon.

Weigh In: Which actress do you think has the best body in Hollywood? Do you have any questions for Teddy Bass, Michelle Lovitt, or Deena Kastor? Let me know, I’ll ask them for you!

  1. This event sounds amazing! I’m a fan of Jennifer Lawrence because of her views on body image and how close we are in age. I’m interested in the pilates benefits, I’ve wanted to try it for so long but it seems like it is a bit expensive for my college budget πŸ™‚

Yeah, Jennifer Lawrence looks amazing! You should try a Pilates dvd or a Groupon to see if you like it. Then you could find a place that has good deals. Some gyms have group Pilates classes too. I love it and highly recommend you give it a try!
